Recommendations
For composite stainless steel, cladding on carbon and alloys, low alloy steels. Also suitable for repair and cladding on worn parts of 13%. manganese steel. Recommended for joining austenitic to carbon steel hardened steel. Also recommended for welding of high hadenable steels without preheat.
Principal Applications
Rail surfaces, joining austenitic steels to hardenable steels, shovels, excavated and dragline buckets, dredger teeth, provides crack free joints of heavy section or structures of manganese steels.
Procedure
Clean weld area, fatigued material should be removed by chamfering. No preheating is required for manganese steels. Always use skip or staggered welding maintain a short to medium arc. Weld bead length should be kept upto locms. At a time. Temperature between the passes should not exceed 50oC Back stepping and skip welding technique should be added. Peening the hot weld helps to reduce stresses.
